Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician

ODE Winery is looking for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Vila Chã de Ourique, Cartaxo. We’re an innovation- and sustainability-driven business, and keeping our spaces properly maintained is a core part of the experience we offer our guests and partners.

We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in maintenance and general services, a practical mindset, a knack for solving problems, and a strong sense of responsibility. This is a chance to grow professionally within a business that’s expanding.

Key responsibilities

Preventive and corrective maintenance

Help plan, schedule and carry out, or oversee, the annual preventive maintenance plan for our facilities.
Diagnose and respond to breakdowns and technical emergencies, restoring normal operation as quickly as possible.
Keep clear, up-to-date records of every maintenance job (date, type of work, materials used, technician responsible).
Maintain and look after existing equipment.
Keep an eye on the condition of buildings, roofs, floors, windows and general infrastructure, and flag and suggest repairs.

General services and internal logistics

Help set up and take down infrastructure for events, including temporary structures, electrical systems and AV equipment.
Keep maintenance and general-services supplies stocked, working with the Maintenance Lead.
Take on a wide range of general maintenance tasks, from masonry, painting and insulation to carpentry, metalwork, paving, electrics and plumbing, continuing to build your skills across all these areas.
Be available for occasional emergency call-outs on public holidays and weekends.

Equipment management

Keep support equipment properly maintained.
Accompany maintenance visits from certified external providers (lifts, fire extinguishers, HVAC, electrical systems, etc.).
Manage the inventory of spare parts, tools and materials, so what’s needed is always on hand.
Keep warranties, manuals and service histories on file for each piece of equipment.
Flag equipment that should be replaced or upgraded on efficiency or safety grounds.

Supplier and contractor support

Help identify, select and manage external maintenance, construction and specialist contractors.
Prepare and follow up on quote requests, negotiate terms, and submit proposals for approval.
Check and sign off work carried out by external providers, for quality, timing and safety compliance.
Keep the record of maintenance contracts, renewal dates and related obligations up to date.

The role at a glance

Location: Vila Chã de Ourique, Cartaxo
Start date: To be agreed
Contract: Open-ended fixed-term
Hours: 40h/week, generally Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm
Holiday: 22 working days of paid leave per year, per Portuguese labour law, or more favourable terms under the applicable collective agreement
Pay: €1,050 gross/month, paid monthly, plus a €10.46/day meal allowance on a meal card, and holiday and Christmas bonuses equal to one month’s pay, as set out by law
