Ode Market

After the success of the first Ode Market, held in April during the spring, we reopen the space and winery to host the Ode Market Summer on Saturday, July 6.

The day will be full of activities, including workshops and live music, in a true Ode to wine.

From 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the doors will be open to welcome visitors to the Ode Summer Market. In the outdoor area of the winery, there will be a market offering fresh produce, olive oils, sweets, jams, cheese, honey, crafts, decorations, clothing, and accessories.

Workshops start at 2:00 PM with the Oficina das Flores, focusing on the symbolism of flowers and their relationship with human emotions, followed at 4:00 PM by Oficina de Barro and Oficina Olfato-Vínica workshops, the latter taught by perfumer Cláudia Camacho, on applying perfumery techniques to wine tasting. A free Personal Organiser will guide guests through systems and techniques of organisation that can help with stress relief, reduce costs and apply sustainability on day-to-day life. At the end of the day, there will be a Gelly Print workshop (using gelatin plates for botanical or other types of prints, resulting in artistic pieces) and a Wine Workshop with the house winemaker, Maria Vicente. Participation in the workshops has different fees and is limited to available places, requiring registration via email contacto@odewinery.com.

Like the first edition, there will also be a snack and appetizer area. From the winery’s restaurant, Cellar Door, Katsu Bifana returns, the same base but with an Asian twist, joined by the Vietnamese chicken salad Goi Ga, among other delicacies, as well as suggestions from local partners. Regardless of the culinary choice, there will be an ODE wine to go with it, with an emphasis on whites and rosés, perfect for a hot summer day. Also available will be craft beers from Gloriana Beer, Salvaterra de Magos, and cocktails from Fuzz Cartaxo bar.

Throughout the day, there will be live music, blind wine tastings with the “Blind Wine Monkey” game and entertainment for the little ones, with face painting, traditional games, and inflatables. Hourly guided tours of the winery will be available, allowing you to go back in time by seeing the original distillery and wine laboratory, dating back to 1902. The underground cellar, carefully lit, surprises with its size and resembles a cathedral, with several oak barrels and a sophisticated tasting room. These tours have a special price of 10€ and do not include a tasting.
